Parking Permits

Every employee or student, including wage payroll, part-time, and fixed-term, wishing to park a vehicle on campus must have a valid parking permit. Parking permits are specific to the employee and vehicles to which they are registered. Permits may not be transferred, sold or duplicated. Full-time faculty and staff parking permits are obtained through their Departmental Parking Chair and must be returned if the employee is terminating employment, changing administrative units, or going on leave of any kind.

Returning Parking Permits

Parking permits are the property of Penn State and must be returned when no longer needed to the department from which they were issued. Below are detailed instructions:

Full-time faculty and staff who have terminated employment, are on leave, or are not working over the summer months, must return their parking permit to their Departmental Parking Chair unless other provisions have been made. If the permit is not returned on the last day of employment, the individual will be held accountable for the fee of the permit.

Part-time/Wage Payroll employees and students who no longer wish to park on campus must return their permit to the University Transportation Services Office:

1st Floor Eisenhower Parking Deck
Open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
814-865-1436
parking@psu.edu

Motorcycle Parking Permits

Faculty and staff who wish to park a motorcycle on campus must first register for a faculty/staff parking permit, then have their motorcycle registered for use with that permit. Once registered, display of the permit is not required on the motorcycle. However, only one vehicle or motorcycle associated with a permit may be parked on campus at any given time.

Motorcycle-only permits are no longer available.

CATA’s RIDEpass

As an alternative to parking on campus, the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) offers the RIDEpass, which issues Penn State faculty, staff, and graduate students discounted bus passes, good on all CATA bus routes in the State College area. For more information please visit transportation.psu.edu/ridepass-employees.
